NALA is recruiting a Plain English Editor

The National Adult Literacy Agency (NALA) is recruiting a Plain English Editor. This is a 12-month position on a fixed-term contract.

The primary function of the editor will be to edit documents using plain English guidelines and to provide plain English training to clients as needed. The editor will also be expected to help develop our Plain English Service and to provide other support in terms of plain English. They will work closely with NALA’s Communications Manager and NALA’s Plain English Co-ordinator.

This is a varied and interesting role, and it will provide a great opportunity for career development in the sector.

The ideal candidate will have excellent editing, writing, and communications skills, as well as strong IT skills, using appropriate desktop publishing and editing software.
