In Ireland, more than 500,000 adults have problems reading and understanding information, or doing basic maths. This means they may be unable to fill in a form, vote, read instructions on medicines, add up a bill, help kids with homework or search the web for information.

This webinar will give you top tips about how you or your organisation can be more accessible to people with literacy or numeracy difficulties. There are benefits and cost savings of doing this. An adult literacy student and NALA staff will discuss literacy and how to deliver a literacy-friendly service.

We will look at:

* what is literacy

* challenges of participating fully in society with literacy needs

* how to deliver a literacy-friendly service

* how to deal sensitively with adults with literacy needs

* when and how to refer an adult to the ETB Adult Literacy Service

Who is this webinar for?
