About this webinar
You will hear from projects who have supported people to engage with our political systems. This helps people become active citizens and influence decisions that impact their lives.
You will hear from:
UISCE, the National Advocacy Service for People who use Drugs in Ireland.
UISCE supported people with the living and lived experience of using drugs to speak to the Citizens Assembly on Drug Use. They spoke about the importance of a human rights and evidence-based and health-led approach to drug policy.
The Active Citizenship Voter Education project based in the Dublin Adult Learning Centre (DALC).
The Active Citizenship Voter Education course aims to support adults with unmet literacy needs or anyone who feels disengaged from politics and voting. The programme is participative and covers the voting system, thinking about issues that are important and using your voice as an active citizen.

Andy O’Hara – Coordinator, UISCE
Niall Hickey – Actor for change with lived experience of drugs, UISCE
