Tutor training courses

In addition to the training that NALA offers to organisations, NALA also works with a number of Higher Education partners to develop accredited programmes for literacy practitioners.

NALA-WIT Accreditation Project

The NALA-WIT Accreditation Project was established in 1997 as a partnership between NALA and the Literacy Development Centre (LDC) at Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT). The LDC incorporates the NALA-WIT Accreditation Project and is part-funded by SOLAS. The current portfolio of programmes spans undergraduate programmes from Higher Certificate to Honours degree level. All were designed for practitioners working across the education spectrum (primary, post-primary, further, adult and higher education) to address the CPD needs of these sectors. The NALA-WIT Accreditation Project currently supports and delivers third level qualifications for tutors and managers in adult literacy and for further education practitioners working in literacy support.
