About VOICES
VOICES is a new collection of short stories written for emerging adult readers by 27 of Ireland’s finest writers and is edited by Patricia Scanlan. It is part of the Open Door series and published by New Island Books.
You can read a copy of VOICES through your local adult literacy centre, borrow a copy of from your local library (when open again) or buy in local bookshops or online directly from www.newisland.ie
The stories are written in plain English and are designed to encourage adults who do not read often, or find reading long texts a challenge, to discover the joy of reading.
The Department of Further and Higher Education and SOLAS funded copies of books for adult literacy students that were distributed to 120 Education and Training Board adult literacy centres around the country. The Department of Rural and Community Development funded copies of books so they are available to borrow in every library in Ireland.
